Civil: Ben Crump documentary to be released on Juneteenth
CIVIL is an intimate look at the life of maverick civil rights attorney Ben Crump and his mission to raise the value of Black life in America. Through the lens of award-winning filmmaker Nadia Hallgren (Becoming), CIVIL follows a year in the life as Crump takes on the civil cases for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Black farmers and banking while Black victims.
The film was produced by Kenya Barris, Roger Ross Williams, Lauren Cioffi and Nadia Hallgren

Ben Crump endorses Ketanji Brown Jackson for the Supreme Court
Civil rights attorney Ben Crump publicly urged President Joe Biden to tap Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson for the Supreme Court on Wednesday, as the president closes in on a decision for his first nomination to the high court.
"In my view, that of a civil rights lawyer and advocate who is committed to bringing justice, respect, and fairness to this nation, and particularly to my community, that woman is Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson," Crump said in a statement, provided first to ABC News.
The endorsement -- the first from a high-profile Black civil rights advocate -- is a significant boost for Jackson after African American community leaders have spent weeks largely remaining neutral on the pick.
"My standards for this nominee go beyond integrity, brilliance and fairness," Crump said in the statement. "I carry the additional purchase that this justice must represent African Americans in a way that has cultural competency, forcefulness and instills deep pride."

Ben Crump, Black women's organization sues Johnson & Johnson over marketing of talcum powder
Attorney Benjamin Crump is among the lawyers who announced a lawsuit on behalf of the National Council of Negro Women against Johnson & Johnson.
A complaint obtained by Insider alleges some members of the nonprofit organization developed ovarian cancer after using the company's powder products. The suit accuses Johnson & Johnson of targeting their products to Black women "knowing that Black women were more likely to use the Powder Products and use them regularly. These Powder Products were not safe, however."
"NCNW has thousands of members who have used J&J's Powder Products. Some of those members have already been injured through the development of ovarian cancer caused by J&J's Powder Products," the suit states. "Others have legitimate reasons to believe that they will develop symptoms and are thus suffering psychological harm while also requiring immediate medical monitoring."Watch his remarks here from a press conference in Washington, D.C.
