Sorry conservatives but taxpayers don't pay for Michelle Obama's clothes

I was happy to read this article because conservatives are always looking to attack the Obama's in any way they can. Whether or not those accusations are true or not they never miss a chance to get in a cheap shot. Some conservatives have wondered aloud how First Lady Michelle Obama affords her glamorous clothes. ( Yes I know they never wondered how Mrs. Reagan or either Mrs. Bush afforded their's. Wonder why?) Well this article by Nancy Benac puts that nonsense to rest once and for all. George Cook AfricanAmericanReports.com.

Michelle Obama's fashionable clothing has become something of a given in her five-plus years as first lady. Yet her wardrobe still is the subject of endless public fascination and one long-simmering question: Who pays for those incredible outfits?

It's no small matter. Her high-low fashion choices mix everyday, off-the-rack fare with custom creations from top designers whose gowns can run into five figures.

In recent weeks, Mrs. Obama has turned heads with a forest-green Naeem Khan dress at the opening of a new costume gallery at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. She shimmered in a silver Marchesa gown at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner. And her flowered shirtdress for a Mother's Day tea at the White House (recycled from an earlier event) hit the just right note for an audience of military moms.

It takes money to pull that off, month after month. Those three dresses by themselves could add up to more than $15,000 retail, not to mention accessories such as shoes and jewelry.

Is it the taxpayers who foot the bill? No. (Despite what critics say.)

Is it Mrs. Obama? Usually, but not always.

Does she pay full price? Not likely.

Employee’s Suit Accuses Tiffany of Racial Bias

A group director for the jewelry retailer Tiffany & Company sued the company in federal court on Thursday, accusing his employer of a “systemic, nationwide pattern and practice of racial discrimination.”

According to the complaint, of the more than 200 management positions that represent Tiffany to the public, a range that includes executive officers, store directors and members of the board of directors, only one is held by an African-American employee: Michael McClure, the plaintiff in this lawsuit.

Robert D. Kraus, the lawyer representing Mr. McClure, says that pattern, along with his client’s experience, demonstrates “racial bias in the belief, conscious or otherwise, that African-Americans are not appropriate ambassadors for the iconic, luxurious and sophisticated Tiffany brand.”

Will Michelle Obama ever run for office?

In a recent interview President Obama on on LIVE! with Kelly and Michael said that he was pretty sure his wife would not run for office. One thing I can promise you, Michelle will not run for office,” he said.

I think that would be very sad if true because I had hoped see Michelle Obama running for a House seat or a US Senate seat one day. I think she would be a great congresswoman or senator. She has the tenacity and will to win a campaign and the intelligence and know how to do a great job once elected.

so do you think that President Obama is right and that his wife wont run or could we one day we will see Mrs. Obama running for office?

Rachel Jeantel graduates high school, keeps promise to Trayvon Martin.

[SOURCE] The teenage girl who was talking to Trayvon Martin on the phone when he was shot to death in 2012 graduated high school Friday, keeping a promise she made to the slain teen about finishing school.

Rachel Jeantel graduated from high school at a Miami auditorium despite her difficulties with English being showcased in the very public trial of George Zimmerman, the man who says he shot Martin in self defense, Yahoo News reported.

Though she was a senior in high school, Jeantel had an elementary-level understanding of reading and math, so Miami defense and civil rights attorney Rod Vereen arranged for tutors for the young woman.

"I did it," Jeantel said of her accomplishment. "The witness who didn't know how to speak English knows how to speak English through the 12th grade now. I never quit."

Even Martin's mother, Sybrina Fulton, was at the graduation ceremony, cheering on her son's friend.

"Her coming is like having Trayvon there saying, 'You did it. You proved people wrong,' " Jeantel said.

Arsenio Hall show cancelled after one season.

[SOURCE] The Arsenio Hall Show will not continue on for its second season.

Despite renewing the late-night syndicated show for a sophomore run in February, CBS Television Distribution has instead opted to cancel the series.

“Unfortunately, The Arsenio Hall Show will not return for a second season; while there are many loyal fans of the show, the series did not grow its audience enough to continue," CBSTVD said in a statement Friday. "Arsenio is a tremendous talent and we’d like to thank him for all the hard work and energy he put into the show. We’d also like to thank Tribune and all our station group partners for their support of the show.”

Added Hall: "When I started this adventure with CTD and Tribune, we all knew it would be a challenge -- I’m gratified for the year we’ve had and proud of the show we created. I’d like to thank everyone on my staff for rallying around me and striving to make the best show possible every night."
