Above the Fold with Jemele Hill debuting Oct. 22 on truTV

TNT Sports and UNINTERRUPTED  announced a partnership to develop a new show that will be part of the TNT Sports on truTV programming lineup beginning later this week. The weekly show – featuring acclaimed journalist Jemele Hill  will delve into important stories and topics centered on the connection between sports and culture. 

The weekly sports magazine series, Above the Fold with Jemele Hill – debuting Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 5 p.m. ET on truTV will deliver a comprehensive and engaging exploration of diverse stories inside the sports world. The 60-minute show will feature Hill and a rotating lineup of correspondents who will discuss and debate the latest news surrounding some of the biggest and most relevant sports stories of the week.  

Hill has previously appeared as a guest correspondent on TNT Sports’ The Arena, the in-depth storytelling franchise that offered thoughtful discussion centered on events taking place on and off the court during the 2020-2021 NBA season. 

“I’m very excited to be working with TNT Sports and UNINTERRUPTED on a project that centers sports journalism and compelling storytelling, said Hill. “The sports media landscape is constantly evolving, but there is always room for nuance, depth and perspective.”

Following the debut of Above the Fold, the series will air each Thursday, beginning at 7 p.m. on truTV.

Jemele Hill Statement On leaving ESPN's 'SportsCenter'



Jemele Hill, the “SportsCenter” anchor who found herself in the middle of a political firefight last year after tweeting about President Trump, is leaving “SportsCenter” to work at The Undefeated, ESPN’s sub-site focused on race and culture. Sports Illustrated reported that the move is believed to be Hill’s decision. Read Hill's statement on her departure below:

Colin Kaeprnick Shows Support For Jemele Hill

Jemele Hill, the co-host of Sports Center went on a rant on Twitter Monday. She tweeted that Trump was "unqualified and unfit to be president." She wrote: “He is not a leader. And if he were not white, he never would have been elected.”

Hill continued: “Trump is the most ignorant, offensive president of my lifetime."

"His rise is a direct result of white supremacy. Period,” she wrote.

The Sports Center anchor's tweets were denounced by ESPN, which released a statement reading, “The comments on Twitter from Jemele Hill regarding the President do not represent the position of ESPN. We have addressed this with Jemele and she recognizes her actions were inappropriate.”
