Rep. Maxine Waters Considering Lawsuit Against Fox News for Publishing Unsubstantiated Claims

Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA), Chairwoman of the House Committee on Financial Services, issued a statement slamming Fox News for its willingness to report absolute lies and falsehoods. Rep. Waters also announced she is considering a lawsuit.

“Fox News is an organization that charades as a news outlet while manufacturing lies, claiming them as truths, and using their platform that reaches millions of Americans as a vessel to spread misinformation. It is no surprise that the targets of Fox’s misinformation campaigns include women of color like me, other people of color, and anyone who dares to speak the truth.

“In a recent article by Fox News, reporters William La Jeunesse and Lee Ross cited sources that falsely claimed I was accompanied by two armed Capitol Police and two U.S. Secret Service agents on an April 17 flight, that I requested a total of four U.S. Air Marshals, and used government resources for my travels. Variations of this article and false claim were then published by the New York Post and the Daily Mail.

“Each and every one of these claims is an absolute lie. Let it be made clear that I have never requested or utilized any Capitol Police, Secret Service, or U.S. Air Marshal presence on that flight or any of my flights.

“The United States Capitol Police quickly refuted and debunked the claims reported by Fox News in a statement that read as follows: ‘The USCP did not have any officers or agents on the plane with Rep. Waters.’

“Following my trip to Minnesota, I became aware that documents outlining a security threat assessment that included my flight number and other travel information was leaked to TownHall, a right-wing media outlet. It was then subsequently shared by Fox News, the New York Post, the Post Millennial, and other outlets where it was falsely claimed that the document indicated I had requested police protection during my trip. Again, this is an absolute lie.

“The United States Capitol Police has informed my staff that they are continuing to investigate the source of the leak. This leak of my travel information and operational and threat assessment information is deeply disturbing and puts my life at risk.

“Because of the way that right wing media outlets have rushed to spread lies about me, it should be no surprise that as an outspoken Black woman with an important role in Congress as Chair of the House Committee on Financial Services, death threats against me have continued.

“A recent death threat that was left on a voicemail message to my office shows the direct link between Fox’s lies and the threats to my life. These are the disturbing words that the caller used:

‘You stupid fucking nigger. How much more do you want to tear this country apart with your racist bullshit?... Your ass is on the fucking line. You may not know it, you may think your security detail is good enough to keep you safe, but I’m calling you from Louisiana and I know you are not safe and your life is on the line bitch. I don’t care if the Secret Service shows up at my door – you deserve to be hung by a rope for treason… And I swear to god, bitch, if I have to come to California to eliminate your fucking ass…And I swear to god, I pray for your death every day just like you prayed for the fucking conviction of an officer who is not guilty. So, go fuck yourself and go shove your face into some dough, in the kitchen, and make some gorilla cookies, bitch… Fuck you Maxine Waters…’

“This is yet another clear example of just how dangerous lies and distortions can be.

“Once again, this is a made-up story by Fox News, which is not only irresponsible, but now openly creating danger for me. My office is now getting even more calls from haters who are threatening my life due to this type of reporting. As a result of Fox’s willingness to lie and deceive its audience, I am now considering a lawsuit against Fox News and demand an immediate retraction of the article.

“Lastly, I am Maxine Waters and my life is constantly threatened by racists, haters, and ill-informed people under the influence of the likes of Fox News. If in fact I lose my life because of these scurrilous attacks in the fight against injustice and racism, my life will not have been lost in vain.”

Fox News fires Diamond & Silk for pushing false coronavirus conspiracies

Fox News has severed ties with Diamond and Silk, the video bloggers and political commentators who bill themselves as President Donald Trump’s “most loyal supporters.”

According to sources, Fox News and streaming service Fox Nation “no longer have a relationship” with the duo.

Earlier this month, Twitter locked their account over a tweet that criticized coronavirus crisis stay-at home orders and suggested that people should be “out in the environment.”

“The only way we can become immune to the environment; we must be out in the environment.” they wrote. “Quarantining people inside of their houses for extended periods will make people sick!”

Twitter said that the tweet was in violation of its coronavirus misinformation policy.

Diamond and Silk also have suggested that the number of coronavirus deaths are inflated and have pushed a conspiracy theory involving Bill Gates and vaccines and another involving 5G technology.

Fox Nation had licensed their show and featured the duo in promotions, but they were not employees of the channel.

The Daily Beast first reported on Fox News’ move. The network cut ties with another personality, Fox Business anchor Trish Regan, in March, following the fallout from comments she made in a segment titled the “Coronavirus Impeachment Scam.”

Their video segments have drawn guests such as Surgeon General Jerome Adams, in which he said that social distancing guidelines were working. They continue to serve as surrogates for Trump’s reelection campaign, including on an advisory board for Black Voices for Trump.

Lebron James responds to Laura Ingraham's 'Shut up and dribble' comments

NBA star and activist Lebron James said that Trump doesn't "Give a f*ck about the people" in an interview with the ESPN website Uninterrupted. So, of course, someone at Fox News had to leap to the so-called President's defense. Conservative talking head Laura Ingraham said that Lebron James should "shut up and dribble" when commenting on James comments. That offended many African Americans and athletes, with some thinking that her comments were racist because they were.

James responded to Ingraham ignorant comments:

“I will not just shut up and dribble,” James said after All-Star practice. “So, thank you, whatever her name is. … I get to sit up here and talk about what’s really important and how I can help change kids. “It lets me know that everything I’ve been saying is correct for her to have that type of reaction. But we will definitely not shut up and dribble. I will definitely not do that. I mean too much to society, I mean too much to the youth, I mean too much to so many kids that feel like they don’t have a way out and they need someone to help lead them out of the situation they’re in.”

“We know it’s bigger than us. It’s not about us,” James said. “I’m going to continue to do what I have to do to play this game that I love to play, but this is bigger than me playing the game of basketball.”

Watch James entire response below:

NABJ Gives Thumbs Down Awards to FOX News and Ebony Magazine

The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) awards The Thumbs Down Award is presented annually to an individual or organization for especially insensitive, racist or stereotypical reporting of African Americans. While Fox News is a no brainer for this award the inclusion of Ebony Magazine is a bit of a surprise, until you read the NABJ's reasons why Ebony won the "award". George L. Cook III African American Reports.

The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) issues its 2017 Thumbs Down Award to FOX News and Ebony magazine.

The Thumbs Down Award is presented annually to an individual or organization for especially insensitive, racist or stereotypical reporting, commentary, photography or cartoon about the black community or for engaging in practices at odds with the goals of the National Association of Black Journalists.

"We take this award very seriously," said NABJ President Sarah Glover. "It is our hope that the recipients would re-evaluate their policies and procedures to ensure that they are following the highest journalistic and ethical standards."

FOX News was selected for numerous reasons. In addition to lawsuits accusing the cable news network of "abhorrent, intolerable, unlawful and hostile racial discrimination," there have also been allegations of sexual harassment. Additionally, the lack of diversity in key positions, is a major concern for NABJ.

"It seems FOX has allowed a very unhealthy environment to fester," said NABJ Vice President of Broadcast Dorothy Tucker. "There has to be a level of accountability and it starts at the top. Management has to do better."

Co-recipient Ebony magazine, under its new owners Clear View Group, has made headlines this year because of staff cuts; the relocation of its headquarters from its founding base in Chicago to Los Angeles; and, its very public and sometimes offensive responses to reports of late or non-payment for work already performed by staff or freelance journalists.

"Many of the decisions being made by Ebony's new owners seem counter to the vision of founder John H. Johnson," said NABJ Vice President of Print Marlon A. Walker. "Ebony and its sister publication Jet are near and dear to us. To hear writers whose words bring us much joy aren't being paid for those words is sad, unconscionable, unacceptable.

"Johnson is probably rolling over in his grave."

FOX News must address its work culture and diversity at all levels of employment, including management positions, and the owners of Ebony magazine must resolve its pay issues with freelancers immediately and work to rebuild its image after several alarming missteps.

Fox News viewers raise over $500,000 for Talladega College marching band to go to Trump inauguration

Talladega College's marching band was able to raise over $500,000 to go to Donald Trump's inauguration from donations by Fox News viewers. Conservatives flocked to the band's GoFundMe page after school's president appeared on "The O'Reilly Factor" to beg for the money. Many gave not to support Talladega College but to spite those who didn't want the band to go. I hope they enjoy the money for now but hopefully someone will remind them "that all money ain't good money." George L. Cook III African American Reports.

Donations on a GoFundMe page set up to cover Talladega College's Marching Tornadoes band expenses for the Trump inaugural parade trip went over $500,000 this weekend.

The fund, which originally set a goal of $75,000, stood at $580,000 as of early Tuesday morning ( 01/17/2017).

More than $300,000 in donations poured in last Friday, after Talladega College President Billy Hawkins appeared on Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor" last Thursday night.

Approximately 3 million viewers tune into O'Reilly each night, making it one of the top rated cable shows on American television, according to Media Life Magazine. The donations continued through the weekend.

In a Friday news conference, Hawkins called the response "probably the single-greatest fundraising effort" for the school. Almost 10,000 donors have contributed on the GoFundMe page, many of the donations coming in relatively small amounts of $10, $20, $50 and $100.

Gabrielle Union: Who is Stacey Dash?

Actress Gabrielle Union is taking aim at Stacey Dash after the Fox News contributor last week questioned the BET channel’s existence.

When asked about Dash’s comments at the Sundance Film Festival premiere of “The Birth of a Nation” on Monday, Union first replied, “Who’s that? Who’s Stacey Dash? Is she like related to Dame Dash? Was she on Roc-A-Fella (Records)?”

Union said the BET Awards remain necessary because of the lack of diversity in mainstream awards.

“The more that we focus on inclusion and a true representation of this country, I think that crazy lady will have less to say,” Union said of Dash.

Union has a TV series on BET called “Being Mary Jane.”

Why Fox News must destroy #BlackLivesMatter

Fox News has launched an all out propaganda war against the #BlackLivesMatter Movement. The network is trying to blame the recent deaths of police officers on the movement, and trying to make a case that #BlackLivesMatter is putting officers lives at risk by changing the atmosphere in which cops must now work. Somehow speaking out against BAD cops who kill people is spewing hate against all police officers. Fox News has blamed #BlackLivesMatter for starting a war on cops. There is no proof that is so and even a police chief who made such a statement admitted as much when pressed.

Fox News is spewing this propaganda and trying to make it seem like there is an epidemic of attacks on police although police deaths are down by 13% as compared to last year. US News & World Reports reports:

Shooting deaths of officers are actually down 13 percent compared with the same January-to-September period in 2014. There were 30 shootings last year and 26 this year. Those figures include state and local officers, as well as federal agents. The figures also include two accidental shootings. Suicides are not included.

Fox News has suggested that #BlackLivesMatter is a "murder movement". Network host such as Elisabeth Hasselback have asked why Black Lives Matter is not classified as a hate group. Bill (facts be damned) O'Reilly has said that #BlackLivesMatter is a hate group and declared that he was “going to put them out of business.”

But why has #BlackLivesMatter become such a huge issue for Fox News?

They would have you believe it's because the network is pro-police. That would be bullsh*t. The truth is #BlackLivesMatter is an Achilles heel for republican/conservative candidates that none of them have any answer for. Worse yet for republicans #BlackLivesMatter is making sure that it will be part of the national agenda for the 2016 election season. Any credible candidate will have to dedicate part of their platform to police reforms and that's the last thing conservatives want. If you think Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders had trouble with #BlackLivesMatter just imagine the issues a conservative/republican candidate would have addressing them. Fox News has falsely demonized #BlackLivesMatter to the point where no conservative candidate can be seen as pandering to the movement for fear of upsetting the "base".

But not being able to address police reform issues will hurt the already low percentage of black voters a republican candidate can expect to get. So what's the solution? Send in the Fox News attack dogs and try to misrepresent, demonize, demean, and belittle #BlackLivesMatter to viewers who don't know in and some cases don't care to know any better. This is being done to try to keep #BlackLivesMatter from setting any part of a national platform for the eventual 2016 candidates.

Simply put Fox News attacks on #BlackLivesMatter are purely political and must be fought back against. Fox News can have their own opinions, but they can't have their own facts.

Sen. McCain reveals his true plan to fight ISIS.

Sen. McCain reveals his true plan to fight ISIS.
By George Cook

From time to time we here at AAR get lucky and get interviews with top government officials. Today through sheer subterfuge and outright lying I was able to get an interview with none other than war hero and war hawk Sen. John McCain. This wasn't easy. I only gained access because I claimed I was from Fox News. McCain and an aide were dubious about my claim because I'm black. That was until I told them I was Ben Carson. They were silent for a moment and then agreed to an interview after McCain made a comment about us all not looking alike. Below is my interview with Sen McCain and his surprising plan to fight ISIS.

AAR (George Cook) (That's me!): Thank you for granting me this interview Senator McCain.

McCain: Oh no problem, I love helping you people.

(Pause as aide whispers something in McCain's ear. McCain gives me a shocked look.)

McCain: Oh my Mr. Carson I am so sorry I didn't mean to say you people.

AAR: It's okay I work at Fox and hear a lot worse. Can we continue?

(Senator McCain nods.)

AAR: Senator you have been very vocal about putting soldiers on the ground and attacking ISIS. Do you really want to do that?

McCain: I want ISIS destroyed, dead, annhilated , terminated, vaporized, eviscerated and all kinds of f*cked up!

AAR: That's great sir but how do you plan on doing that? Even some of your fellow republicans are against putting boots on the ground and admit that air strikes have limited capabilities. When being honest your colleagues admit that real options that can hurt ISIS are limited.

(McCain makes a smile that scares me and begins to rub his hands together.)

McCain: We don't need to put soldiers on the ground. We just need to put one man on the ground.

AAR: Who Rambo?

McCain: What do you think I am crazy? Rambo is not real.

AAR: Then who sir?

McCain: Captain America!

AAR: What the f*ck did you just say?

McCain: You heard me Captain f*cking America. We drop him in he kicks some ISIS ass, problem solved.

AAR: Senator, Cap is not real. Even if he was he can't beat a small army.

McCain: Bullsh*t did you see Winter Soldier? He beat like twenty guys in an elevator!

(The aide again whispers in McCain's ear.)

McCain: I have to go, it's nap time.

AAR: Oh please don't let me stand in the way of your nap time.

McCain: Thank you Mr. Carson

THE END

DISCLAIMER: Due to the nature of the Internet I feel posting this disclaimer is needed. This is obviously satire and I did not actually interview Sen. McCain. I sure as hell don't work for Fox News. That should cover everything. George L. Cook III

Black people don't need Al Sharpton to tell them to get angry.

Whenever there is a tragic shooting of a young black man Al Sharpton inevitably shows up. Some conservatives instantly criticize him and say he is a race baiter, publicity hound, or camera chaser. They make these comments of the fact that most times Sharpton is actually asked by the families of the victims to come in as in the Michael Brown situation. They make this statements as if African Americans are incapable of getting angry unless told to do so by black leaders like Sharpton.

But it astounds me when I here talking heads say that the Al Sharptons and Jesse Jacksons of the world only make the situation worse and inflame passions.

They must think that black people just hold their anger in until Sharpton gets there and after a few choice words from him then decide to get angry. Any black parent would and should be mad at the shooting of Michael Brown. That could have been their child or grandchild. Their brother or father that was shot down and then left to lay in the street for hours. The police didn't have the common decency to place a sheet over the body. The police then continued to change their stories about what has happened and then showed up in military gear and with military vehicles. Wouldn't that make any normal person angry? Would anyone need Sharpton to show up and say "Okay let's get mad!"

We as a community know on our when an injustice has been committed. We don't need anyone to tell us to get angry. I think the reason that some hate Al Sharpton is that because when he comes so do the cameras and all that BS they have been getting away with is now in full public view. Say what you will about the man but he brings attention to a situation like few others.

If Sharpton haters really want to see him put out of business all they have to do is fight for justice for all. They would make sure that police are actually held to a higher standard and demand accountability from them. When there is that justice and accountability there will be no need for the Al Sharptons of the world. Until then...

Sean Hannity is a bold face liar on Benghazi!

Sean Hannity is a bold faced liar!

When it comes to Benghazi (okay, and everything else) Sean Hannity has no problem lying or leaving out facts that better put things in context. He has no problem calling Press Secretary Jay Carney a liar or political hack even while he is on air lying. I mean how can this happen with his crack (as in they are actually on crack) team of researchers.

Let's dive into this.

Hannity has repeatedly stated the US forces were told to stand down on both his radio and talk shows. There is just one huge problem.

There was no "stand down" order given during Benghazi attack. Republicans own report from the Republican dominated House of Representatives states so:

V. There was no “stand down” order issued to U.S. military personnel in Tripoli who sought to join the fight in Benghazi. However, because official reviews after the attack were not sufficiently comprehensive, there was confusion about the roles and responsibilities of these individuals.

Don't take my word for it, read it for yourself: http://armedservices.house.gov/index.cfm/files/serve?File_id=C4E16543-8F99-430C-BEBA-0045A6433426

When it comes to putting things in context Hannity completely leaves out relevant facts such as:

Ambassador Stevens twice said no to military offers of more security, U.S. officials say. Read more here: http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2013/05/14/191235/amb-stevens-twice-said-no-to-military.html

Benghazi attack followed deep cuts in State Department security budget: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/sep/27/benghazi-attack-followed-deep-cuts-in-state-depart/?page=all

Now this is the United States and Hannity has the right to lie. My question is why is allowed to lie and misrepresent facts on a channel with "News" in it's title?

Fox News cuts away from Obama press conference because nobody asked about Benghazi?

What kind of sh*t is Fox News on? Today Fox News cut away from a press conference with President Obama and German chancellor Angela Merkel because no reporters asked about Benghazi. In an huge case of irony President Obama discussed the situation in Ukraine. You know the situation Fox News has used to portray President Obama as weak although many of their pundits have admitted there's not much he can do.

But back to why no one asked about Benghazi Now there are probably two very good reasons why no questions were asked.

1. It would be inappropriate to bring up an American conspiracy theory when the German chancellor is here to discuss issues that relate to US/German relations.

2. Nobody except Fox. News gives a f*ck.

Watch Fox News cut away from the press conference and give an explanation why below:

Allen West attempts to link Pres. Obama to Ft. Hood shootings?

After the tragic Fort Hood shootings on 04/02/2014 former congressman Allen West appeared on Fox News (where else) to give his opinion and thoughts on the tragedy. Now even I thought this made sense since he's prior military. But after be asked a question (ok prompted) by Sean Hannity he did something just as amazing as it is disgusting. This man somehow tried to connect President Obama's dealings with Crimea to the Ft. hood shootings. Normally nothing said on Fox News surprises me but this BS did. As someone who is former military and currently serving in a elected capacity I was completely embarrassed for him. This is something you have to see to believe. Watch his ridiculous comments below:

Bill O'Reilly has problems with Beyonce.

Poor Russell Simmons. He comes on Bill O'Reilly's show to push his book (WTF was Russell thinking) and somehow wounds up being put in a position of having to explain Beyonce's music. Now Mr. O'Reilly is one of those people who still think that every black person knows what every other black person is thinking and can then explain the what and why of what that other black person did. (sorry Bill we can't). Check out the exchange between Russell Simmons & Bill O'Reilly over Beyonce's music below.
