Trump has an more of an issue with black athletes who protest than with white nationalist

There is a famous Maya Angelou quote, "When Someone Shows You Who They Are, Believe Them ."

Donald Trump has issues with Colin Kaepernick, Jemele Hill, and Stephen Curry (Wonder what they all have in common there?), all athletes are people in sports who don't support him or that have PEACEFULLY protested, but he seems to have no issues with white nationalist.

Trump's words last night at a campaign rally for Luther Strange show that he is very upset about attacking NFL players who kneel during the national anthem. He is more upset about that than white nationalist who marched while making anti-Semitic slurs at the University of Virginia, or the white supremacist who injured many and killed one person in Charlottesville. Trump showed more passion in calling black NFL players "son of a bitch" than he ever did when he was forced to denounce the alt-right. Watch that segment of his speech below:

Wow he seemed pretty fired up there and got a great reaction from the crowd filled with his supporters. But that wasn't enough; Trump had to take a shot at Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors after they pretty much said they didn't want to visit the White House to be honored for the 2017 NBA Championship.

In a response that took far shorter than the 48 hours it took to respond to the horrible events in Charlottesville, Trump tweeted:

Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team. Stephen Curry is hesitating,therefore invitation is withdrawn!

Of course what Trump did there was quit before he could be fired or dumped a girlfriend/boyfriend before they dump you. Trump also doesn't understand that you can't rescind an invitation that was never given or that was not going to be accepted anyway.

As every day passes he is showing that he doesn't care about anyone but his base, the rest of us be damned.

If not a racist then Trump is a man who has no problem being associated with racist or defending them.

The man has shown us who he is. Believe him.

Colin Kaeprnick Shows Support For Jemele Hill

Jemele Hill, the co-host of Sports Center went on a rant on Twitter Monday. She tweeted that Trump was "unqualified and unfit to be president." She wrote: “He is not a leader. And if he were not white, he never would have been elected.”

Hill continued: “Trump is the most ignorant, offensive president of my lifetime."

"His rise is a direct result of white supremacy. Period,” she wrote.

The Sports Center anchor's tweets were denounced by ESPN, which released a statement reading, “The comments on Twitter from Jemele Hill regarding the President do not represent the position of ESPN. We have addressed this with Jemele and she recognizes her actions were inappropriate.”

Colin Kaepernick thanks fans for support

A day after a rally in support of him outside the NFL's offices in New York, Colin Kaepernick thanked the participants in a tweet on Thursday.

On Wednesday more than 1,000 people crowded the area around the league's midtown Manhattan offices. Many of those fans wore jerseys with his name and demanded Kaepernick be signed by the start of the regular season on Sept. 7.

On Twitter, Kaepernick wrote: Thank you to everyone who went to support yesterday. My faith always has been and always will be in the power of the people!

Colin Kaepernick items to be part of Smithsonian's Black Lives Matter collection

Items pertaining to Colin Kaepernick will be part of the Black Lives Matter collection at the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture.

"The National Museum of African American History and Culture has nearly 40,000 items in our collection," Damion Thomas, the Washington museum's sports curator, told USA Today Sports. "The Colin Kaepernick collection is in line with the museum's larger collecting efforts to document the varied areas of society that have been impacted by the Black Lives Matter movement."

Thomas had previously told USA Today Sports that items would include a game-worn jersey and shoes.

Kaepernick, as a member of the San Francisco 49ers, kneeled during the playing of national anthem throughout the 2016 season. The free agent quarterback said he was protesting racial inequality and social injustice in the country.

Spike Lee doesn’t like the way unemployed former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick continues to be shunned by the NFL and he’s doing something about it.

The noted film director and writer announced with a tweet Tuesday he is staging a rally to support his fellow social activist Kaepernick at NFL headquarters in New York on Aug. 23.

NFL commissioner denies that Colin Kaepernik is being blackballed

If you believe in zombies, Big Foot, the Loch Ness Monster, and that Biggie, Tupac, and Elvis are all still alive then you might believe NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell about Colin Kaepernick. Goodell says that Colin Kaepernick refusal to stand during the national anthem last year has nothing to do with him remaining unsigned.

During a Rams fan event at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Goodell addressed the issue and insisted it’s not because the star once refused to stand for the national anthem.

Goodell tried to make the point that teams "all want to get better," so they'll all be looking to sign the best player available.

"If they see an opportunity to get better as a football team, they're going to do it," Goodell said, via ESPN.com. "They're going to do whatever it takes to make their football team better. So, those are football decisions. They're made all the time. I believe that if a football team feels that Colin Kaepernick, or any other player, is going to improve that team, they're going to do it."

"Those are decisions that the 32 clubs are going to have to make individually," Goodell said of signing players. "They're going to give whatever player they think can help them win that opportunity. And I think that's what's great about the NFL is that we're a meritocracy, and you earn your opportunities and you get to keep your opportunities on the way you perform, ultimately. That's what the NFL is about. I think that's why fans love the game. People go out and they earn those opportunities, and it's a competitive league, which is great for us."

If Kaepernick upset you, Trump's lack of patriotism should have you furious

During the NFL's preseason so called "patriots" were apoplectic that SanFrancisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick refused to stand for the national anthem out of respect to black men who have been gunned down by police.

Kaepernick's actions were just the worst thing ever. These people thought that Kaepernick was disrespecting our fallen soldiers and those serving right now. Kaepernick's stance was an insult to our nation's police officers and would lead to more disrespect for police. There were calls for the 49ers to punish or fine him, some threatened to stop watching NFL games if no action was taken although they were no legal reason to do so.

Worst of all he was unpatriotic in a country where he made millions, you know like Donald Trump. Trump though gets a pass from his supporters for being unpatriotic.

That's right trump is unpatriotic. What else would you call a man who refuses to say that he will acknowledge and accept Clinton as President of the United States WHEN she wins the election. How can a Trump claim to want to make American great again when he doesn't follow our time-honored traditions when it comes to a peaceful transition of power? That tradition is what makes America's democracy great and not a banana republic.

If you were mad at Kaepernick you should be furious with Trump. Kaepernick's actions haven't hurt anyone or anything other than some people's feelings. Trump's stance could hurt a whole lot more and put a permanent stain of this great experiment we call democracy.

Colin Kaepernick has received death threats

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick says he has had his life threatened as a response to his protest of racial oppression and inequality in the United States by kneeling during the national anthem.

Kaepernick said Tuesday that he has received threats via "a couple of different avenues," in addition to social media. He seemed mostly nonplussed by the threats, saying that he hasn't reported any of them to the 49ers security team.

"To me, if something like that were to happen, you've proved my point and it will be loud and clear for everyone why it happened and that would move this movement forward at a greater speed than what it is even now," Kaepernick said. "Granted, I don't want that to happen but that's the realization of what could happen and I knew there were other things that came along with this when I first stood up and spoke about it. That's not something I haven't thought about."

Colin Kaepernick: Police union rescinds boycott threat of 49ers games

The union for the police officers who patrol San Francisco 49ers games at Levi’s Stadium rescinded its boycott threat Thursday, nearly a week after the association proclaimed its members could decline assignments at the facility amid quarterback Colin Kaepernick's recent protests.

The Santa Clara Police Officers' Association wrote in a statement that it “will encourage our officers to work 49ers games and other stadium events.” The union cited the change in its stance to a statement put out a day earlier by Santa Clara Mayor Lisa Gillmor, who thanked the city’s police officers for their dedication and asked them to work the games.

In a letter sent to the 49ers last Friday, the Santa Clara Police Officers' Association said its officers could opt not to patrol Levi’s Stadium and the 49ers' headquarters over Kaepernick's pregame protest of not standing for the national anthem, the socks he wore that depicted cartoon pigs wearing police hats and his comments about police brutality.

The letter received tremendous attention, but by the middle of this week, no officer had apparently declined to work the games over Kaepernick.

Santa Clara Police Union Threatens Boycott of 49ers Games Over Kaepernick Protest

The Santa Clara Police Union has sent a letter to the San Francisco 49ers threatening that their members will no longer volunteer to provide security at home games unless Colin Kaepernick is disciplined. Now, of course, the first obvious question any rational human being would ask is discipline him for what? He has broken no team rules or policies but only exercised his rights as stated in the US constitution, so what is there to punish him for?

Here is another example of police officers acting like fragile little lilies who can't bare to have big mean bad words thrown at them. They want to pretend to be tough guys, but it hurts their feelings because some guy protest? They could have used this as an opportunity to open up a dialogue with Kaepernick and work with him to show a different side of the police that many minorities don't see, but no they want to fall on the ground and throw a tantrum. Don't tell conservatives but many veterans like myself were not upset by Colin Kaepernick's refusal to stand for the national anthem. Many of us understand that we served so that Kaepernick would have the right to not stand during the anthem. Jim Brown: I'm with Colin Kaepernick '100 percent'

Appearing on Monday's edition of NFL Total Access, Brown weighed in on the controversy surrounding San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick's recent protest during the playing of the national anthem. During his comments he let it be known that he is with Kaepernick 100%. Read his comments below.

"I listened to him and he makes all the sense in the world. He's within his rights and he's telling the truth as he sees it," Brown explained. "I am with him 100 percent. ... Now if you ask me 'Would I do that?' No I won't, because I see it a little differently. I'm an American citizen, I pay my taxes, I want my equal rights but this is my country, and consequently I don't want to open up for ISIS or anybody that will take away what we've already gained."

While professional athletes have been reluctant to speak out in recent years, Brown believes there are signs that they are becoming more outspoken and willing to deal with the public backlash -- as Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett implored late last month.

"Absolutely. I think Pandora's Box is open. I'm very happy that it is," Brown continued. "So many years, we had the great Michael Jordan who stated that Republicans buy sneakers, too. ... And for a couple of generations it was about making money, not messing with your image. And the agents became the pivotal figure for a lot of these guys. And the agents kept reminding them that you have to be this all-American boy to make these kind of dollars and these dollars are astronomical dollars. So the money came into the culture and created a couple of generations of individuals who did not want to speak up."

White House statement on Colin Kaepernick

The White House said Monday that it disagrees with Colin Kaepernick’s “objectionable” decision to stay seated during the national anthem in protest but defended the San Francisco 49ers quarterback’s right to freedom of speech.

Asked for President Obama's reaction to Kaepernick's actions, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest signaled his personal disagreement, but indicated he hadn't quizzed the president on the subject. But he did make the following statement:

“In general, what I can say is that I certainly don’t share the views that Mr. Kaepernick expressed after the game in explaining his reasoning for his actions,” Earnest said. “But we surely all acknowledge and even defend his right to express those views in the settings that he chooses. Even as objectionable as we find his perspective, he certainly is entitled to express them.”
